TOBACCO 7257 is based on an ethylene vinyl acetate emulsion and is characterized by its high wet tack, good setting time.
In the tobacco industry, and some packaging application, TOBACCO 7257 is used as a glue lap packaging and paper in the manufacture of cigarette packaging. The use of TOBACCO 7257 gives excellent adhesion to the various boards such as ivory, metal zing paper, and general paper stock. It was runs exceptionally cleanly, giving minimal garniture contamination.
TOBACCO 257 is also used elsewhere in the tobacco industry as a cigarette paper/ambries/bobbin. TOBACCO 7257 does not give rise to skinning in large glue troughs, thereby reducing stoppage times.
